The Appalachian Spring Room is named for the season of the year when the Innkeeper, Vikki Woods, found this mountain property. Mid-April’s spring, when the redbuds, dogwoods and serviceberry trees begin to bloom, has become Vikki’s favorite time of year in the mountains.
A romantic 4-poster queen bed with cozy comforters, sensuous sheets and original artwork and antiques make this a favorite room for a romantic getaway. An en-suite jetted tub and shower in the tiled bath are perfect for relaxing and quiet times together.
Float your rubber ducky from one end of the tub to the other through the bubbles as the candles around the room flicker romantically. Facing southeast, the gentle sound of the waterfall and stream drift in through the Appalachian Spring Room’s open balcony door lulling you to sleep.
In the morning, don the terry robe provided to bring your coffee and sweet back to enjoy on your private balcony. Laugh at the antics of the birds and squirrels feasting at the feeders just below your balcony – cardinals, nuthatches, chickadees, blue jays, and goldfinches. Watch out for the hummingbirds as they dart past you on their way to one of the many feeders hung out for them.
This leisurely start to your morning will continue as you join the other guests for breakfast outside in warm weather or beside the crackling fire in cooler months,
