The log exterior walls, soaring ceiling, and paintings of fox hunting scenes in the
Equestrian Room make it a popular bedroom for outdoor lovers. Warmed by the flames of the Franklin stove this cozy getaway from the world welcomes you to relax and sit a spell far from the madding crowd. Mountains outside the windows display an ever changing panorama adding to the restful feeling of the Equestrian Room.
This room is just a little bigger than some of the others - enjoy sitting before the fire wrapped in one of our terry robes sipping your early morning coffee enjoying a fresh pastry. Magazines, books and some puzzle games take your mind off the cares of your world. Or enjoy a book from our "exchange library" - the lights over the bed are set for reading, and there is a comfortable chair with a reading lamp. Be sure to ask the Innkeeper, Vikki, about the chair!
The Equestrian Room is the one to choose if you want an in-room massage. Either before or after your massage, enjoy a "spooning" whirlpool tub with bubbles, a rubber ducky and candles. It also has a two-person steam shower. Great for cleansing the pores of the skin or clearing a stuffy nose.
The Equestrian Room, like all the rooms at the Inn, represents a phase of Vikki's life and the things which bring her pleasure. Ever since she was a little girl, she loved horses, but it wasn't until she was 35 and married that she was able to own her first horse - an Appaloosa named Fairweather Thundercloud.
They shared many happy times together: fox hunting and long distance rides. It was on the 100 mile ride competition at the Biltmore Estate that Vikki fell in love with these mountains and knew she wanted to live here someday. It took some changes in her life, for her to return to Butler and the mountains she had fallen in love with. So remember, if you dream and want something bad enough, it will come.
