February is "Lover's Month" and
we help lovers celebrate all month long.
Here at the Iron Mountain Inn nestled in
the Cherokee National
Forest, your romantic getaway or family vacation starts when you enter the Inn and feel its warm welcome. Walking out on the decks
to the glorious view, snatching a chocolate chip cookie from the bottomless
cookie jar, watching the birds feeding and chattering as you explore the
gardens - all help you slow down and begin to relax.
Perhaps you'll come to elope, on your
honeymoon, an anniversary, or just "to get away". Whatever the
reason, the little town of Butler, TN between Boone, NC and Damascus, VA below Mountain City, TN is known as "the quiet corner" of Tennessee. No crowds or
traffic jams like you will find in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. Only romantic
hikes along the Iron Mountain Inn's trails; or perhaps a day on Watauga Lake
exploring the coves, or exploring back roads and mountain scenery by car or bike.
“Pampering Perfected" is the way we
treat our guests and is one of the reason guests return time and again when
they want a relaxing romantic getaway at this luxurious log home atop a ridge
in the Iron Mountain range.
As you enter your suite where
relaxation and romance await , you look forward to trying the whirlpool tub,
the steam shower, or relaxing with a cup of coffee on your private balcony. If
you have chosen the Equestrian Room, you will enjoy your coffee in front of
your Franklin stove.
No set time for breakfast - just come
down sometime before 10:00 a.m. (in one of the terry robes we provide if you
want) After all, you are getting away from clocks and schedules.. Slow down and
take time to enjoy each other.
Because many of our fine local restaurants close
during the winter months, the Inn offers fine
dining with 36 hour advance reservations. You will enjoy homemade soups, fresh
salads, main entree with fresh ingredients as the season dictates, and unique
desserts which always include the famous Iron Mountain Inn chocolate chip
cookies. Served by flickering firelight and candlelight during the winter months.
Or are you coming to find a vacation home or retirement home? Many people have! I did! And I'm never leaving!
Johnson County has much to offer the visitor: hiking, swimming, boating, fishing in stocked streams and the lake, craft and antique stores...or just "restin' and relaxin'" while the clouds drift up the valley.
While you are staying with us, you might enjoy our hiking trails as well as nearby sections of the Appalachian Trail, Gentry Creek Falls Trail, or stroll along the shore of Watauga Lake skipping stones and finding shells.
In any season a reason to visit and share the magic of the mountains. Don't delay! Call today to reserve your romantic getaway in the mountains.
But don't listen to us....here are some comments from our guest books:
