Golf Package

In less than half an hour you can be playing 18 holes on one of the top 20 courses in Tennessee. 3 days/2 nights. The Red Tail Golf Resort invites you to be a member for a day - or two. The course has been newly refurbished to challenge even the scratch golfer. The manager, former pro golfer Sam Adams, invites you to a challenging day on the course followed by a delightful luncheon in the Club House.

Package includes: pick up at the local county airport if you fly your own plane and the use of a car; three days and two nights, breakfast each morning, afternoon refreshments, the bottomless cookie jar filled with the famous Iron Mountain Inn chocolate chip cookies and dinner on your arrival night. Greens fees and a cart are included. Rates per person are: $445.00 plus tax. If two people share a room, there is a 20% discount.

Hiking Package for 2

Have you ever dreamed of hiking the Appalachian Trail? Here's your chance to challenge yourself for a day trip, or overnight. Let us share with you some of the beautiful and exciting sections of the trail here in NE Tennessee. Waterfalls, mountain peaks, wildflowers in abundance, you can find them on the AT.

Join the bikers who enjoy exploring our back roads, mountain passes and "the green-eyed snake", aka route 421 from Mountain City, TN to Bristol, TN. 33 miles with 469 curves, 3 mountains and one valley. Then come back on route 58 through Damascus, VA stopping for a bite to eat at the Dairy King which has great chicken sandwiches, an ice cream cone at the In the Country country store before winding your way back to Mountain City on 91,and thence down to Butler where a refreshing drink and good dinner awaits.

The Creekside Chalet - suitable for 2-6 guests. Two king or twin bedded rooms, one queen bedded room. Hot tub on the gated wrap around deck which contains large dogs and small children. Lakeside Cottage - on Watauga Lake. Fish at the edge of the lawn. Bring your boat and tie it up to the dock . Or rent a fishing or pontoon boat from Fish Springs Marina. 2 king bedrooms, 1 twin or king bedded room, large screen tv, wireless internet, gas grill, open deck to watch the fish jump, fully furnished and equipped with flour, sugar, coffee, tea, condiments and maybe even some leftover beer! Fish, then come over to the Inn property and hunt for deer, grouse, turkey or bear depending on the season. Week long rental for up to 6 people only $2200.00 plus tax

Or rent a pontoon boat from Fish Springs Marina (www.fishspringsmarina.com) and troll out on the main part of Watauga Lake. Then tie the boat right on the edge of the lawn - ready to go any time. Enter one of the many bass tournments during the summer.

Cottage on Watauga Lake

Christmas Tree Hunt | $735.00

Join other families for an old fashioned Christmas tradition in December. Arrive one afternoon and settle in to your comfortable room. Enjoy chili or lasagna and a game night that evening. After a hearty breakfast the next morning, head out to one of the local Christmas Tree Farms to find "the perfect Christmas Tree". Return home to the Inn where we will put the tree in water to preserve it. That evening, enjoy fondue in front of the wood burning fireplace while making popcorn and cranberry or paper chains. Come the first three weekends in December and enjoy sharing Christmas preparations with the Cobb Family as it was done in 1791 at the Rocky Mount Living History Museum where "history comes alive".
