In summer, fall asleep to the sound of the elusive whippoorwill as he calls his mate for a romantic interlude. Snuggling together in the king sized bed in the Green Room , your private balcony door open to the soft breezes outside, watch the mountaintops peeking through the mist as it drifts up the valley.

In fall, the sound of wind rustling in the leaves before they drop to the ground after they have been painted by Jack Frost. Now is the time to be awed by Mother Nature’s colors: brown, burgundy, yellow, gold as you walk hand in hand along the trails just outside the front door of the Inn.

In winter, watch the gently falling snow as it swirls around the Inn while you are cozy and warm between the soft Egyptian cotton sheets under a down comforter in your romantic bedroom.

Your private jetted tub can be made more romantic when candles cast their flickering beams over the bubbles in the tub. Soft music also adds to the romance of being alone together. How about some other kind of bubbles…. a glass of champagne or sparkling juice and chocolate covered strawberries?

When spring is in the air, the birds do it, the bees do it, romance is in the air! Soft green leaves as branches begin to bud, redbuds lining the shores of Watauga Lake. It all starts in the morning when you awaken in the Green Room after a refreshing night’s sleep. Time to rise and shine. Be awakened by the fragrance of freshly brewing coffee and freshly baked muffins. Don the terry robe we provide and take your coffee back to your bedroom.

Each morning of your visit, a hearty breakfast is prepared for you. Maybe French toast, or French scrambled eggs, or how about Belgian waffles with ice cream and strawberries? All breakfasts consist of fruit, juices and a hot dish of some type.

Depending on your plans, the bottomless cookie jar is always filled with home made chocolate chip cookies so after a hike on the trails on the Inn property, return for a cookie and something to drink.

In the afternoon, we offer refreshments out on the open deck in warm weather or in front of the wood burning fireplace in cooler weather.
